The role

Role Purpose

To support BRC Global Standards and the BRC Trade Association with the development of optimised, innovative, relevant and engaging content across a multitude of channels to a wide range of audiences and market sectors. The role also includes the planning, development, production and publication of digital content for a suite of BRC Global Standards, BRC publications, quarterly magazines, online newsletters, social media, websites and supporting sales collaterals

This is permanent, full time role based at the BRC’s head office in London Bridge and the position reports to the Head of Marketing Services.

The role

  • Responsible for online/offline content across all communication channels, including the company websites, publications, social media, online newsletters, press releases, sales collaterals, email campaigns and other internal communications
  • Keep abreast of all emerging digital marketing trends and the evolving social media landscape
  • Work with other Marketing team members to continually seek ways to improve website user experience and search optimisation
  • Analyse and report on post successes, engagement levels, website visitors, using analytical tools and research across all platforms
  • Monitor publications in production, detailing the current status of documents as they progress through editorial, translation and typesetting and maintain a publication schedule
  • Write engaging bibliographies for new publications
  • Oversee content management, version control, naming, and digital filing
  • Liaise with suppliers on files for new publications, manage the publishing process with our partners
  • Monitoring the Nielsen Title Editor when new titles are published or go out of date and arrange provision of printed publications to the Legal Deposit Office
  • Manage process of identifying links between related publications in order to map this information through our online subscription platform, BRC Participate
  • Monitor the BRC Global Standards publishing and website platforms to ensure that content is being published as and when planned
  • Supporting other team members as and when required

  • Create accurate, quality content ensuring brand guidelines and tone-of-voice are adhered to that increases awareness of the two brands
  • Ongoing maintenance of content on all platforms to ensure relevance and freshness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to produce relevant content that meets campaign requirements
  • Publish BRC Global Standards and BRC publications within agreed timelines
  • Ensure our online content sites BRC Participate and BRC Bookshop are kept up to date
  • Keep accurate development schedules for all content a provide regular update reports
  • Publish monthly analysis of trends for both BRC Participate, BRC Bookshop and other websites

  • Efficient with an understanding of effective content management and version control, and how to implement and administrate this for a complex variety of titles
  • Confident communicator, articulate and able to communicate and liaise effectively with suppliers and partners
  • Fast learner and pro-active team player with a can-do attitude, supporting a culture of constant improvement
  • Excellent command of the English language with strong grammar, vocabulary and spelling
  • Confident in the use of Windows software, with demonstrable experience Microsoft Dynamics, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong writing skills, with experience of copywriting and proofreading
  • An awareness of the processes involved in production, publishing, print, and digital distribution of content
  • A good understanding of marketing and communications, including content development, email and direct mail marketing, social media campaigns, and digital presence
