February 2020 ONS Retail Sales analysis
The ONS Retail Sales Index (RSI) for February 2020 published today came in lower than expected, with a year-on-year growth of 1.7% for Large Businesses in February (value ex fuel at current prices, non seasonally-adjusted) against an upwardly revised 3.2% for January. The slowdown was consistent with the findings of the February BRC-KPMG Retail Sales Monitor published on 10 March.
