Today thousands of people are employed in retail jobs that simply did not even exist five years ago, and a quarter of non-food retail sales in Scotland are online.
This transformation will only accelerate, with huge implications for the Scottish economy.
The SRC is committed to explaining what these developments will look like and what steps need to be taken by government and retailers to deliver positive change. We have a vision of a more productive industry committed to sustainable growth which will continue to play it’s vital and unique role within the Scottish economy.

The SRC’s Parliamentary Reception is the premier event in the Scottish retail calendar, attracting senior retailers, parliamentarians, and influencers. Our 2017 Reception is scheduled for Wednesday 14 June and is being kindly hosted by Harvey Nichols Edinburgh. The Scottish Government’s Economy Secretary, Keith Brown MSP, and SRC Chairman Andrew Murphy will be the principal speakers.

This event is by invite only. If you wish to attend please contact our events team directly by emailing
