  • adopting easy to use on-pack nutritional labelling across own brand ranges.

Tackling the causes of childhood obesity needs a comprehensive approach, with both food manufacturers and retailers playing a full role.

Long-term

The priority for the campaign is to enhance and protect retailers’ brands and the reputation for the products they sell and the production standards they adopt.

short term

The short term priority is to ensure that government recognises industry progress to date, and that any new legislation under the childhood obesity strategy is proportionate.
