The BRC is proud to launch the Climate Action Roadmap Showcase, a new initiative to celebrate the achievements of retailers over the last two years to put their company on the path to Net Zero.

This Showcase is open to all signatories of the Climate Action Roadmap (not a signatory – you can sign up today!). We hope everyone will submit some fantastic case studies about how their company is tackling climate change. The aim is to look at actual initiatives and actions that took place since 2020, across five categories:

  1. Tackling carbon emissions in the supply chain;
  2. Reducing emissions in transport and logistics;
  3. Reducing waste;
  4. Driving towards net zero properties;
  5. Changing consumer behaviour.

During BRC’s Climate Action Week, on Thursday 20th October, we will be celebrating your amazing efforts in tackling climate change at an event in the Form Rooms, London. Our panel of judges will be recognising some of the initiatives that have made the biggest difference across each of the five categories. Our judges are:

  •  Nick Beighton, Ex-CEO of ASOS, and newly appointed CEO of MatchesFashion;
  •  Marcus Gover, Chief Executive Officer of WRAP
  •  Lindsay Hooper, Executive Director of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership;
  •  Kate Norgrove, Executive Director of Advocacy and Campaigns at the WWF;
  •  Luke Tugby, Editor at Retail Week.

 So get involved. We need you to submit your best examples of initiatives to tackle climate change. Download a submission form today.

We will be highlighting all your case studies on our website, across social media and to politicians and journalists over the coming year. Our aim is to show the world the actual difference being made by the retail industry on climate change.

We understand awards and case studies can be time-consuming processes. This is why we’re limiting case study submissions to just 1,500 words – a 300 word overview, up to 600 words on the initiative, and up to 600 words on the outcomes. Retailers have until the 2nd September 2022 to submit. There is no cost to enter, and retailers can enter for multiple categories (a separate entry will be required for each category).
