Joint Letter on State Aid Rules

The BRC, UK Hospitality and CBI have written to HM Treasury with a joint letter to urge flexibility in the application of Undertaking in Difficulty tests.

The tests are component of state aid rules, which are causing severe problems for high growth firms and those with more complex structures in using the coronavirus loan schemes.

Our teams continue to engage on this matter, but the letter stresses the gravity of the situation as otherwise healthy firms can’t access crucial support.
