The HR community were joined by BEIS officials who presented the opportunities available to 'at risk of redundancy' sectors on the Talent Retention Scheme.

BEIS has invested over £1m into the TRS. The high level aims of the scheme are:

1.   To protect talent in the industry and re-deploy those individuals to other parts of the sector, where roles/skills are needed

2.   To enable individuals from at risk sectors (including retail), with overlapping competencies, to be re-deployed within the sector, where roles and their skills are needed

The scheme is funded until end of the financial year, free to use for individuals and companies.  Over 30% of the roles on the portal are for non construction workers (e.g. customer services, sales, HR, and project management).
