Government Briefing – High Street Rental Auctions

The Levelling Up & Regeneration Bill announced at the Queens Speech is introducing High Street Rental Auctions as a new permissive power for local authorities. Local authorities will be able to run a rental auction on select vacant commercial properties to require landlords to rent out properties to prospective tenants, such as local businesses or community groups.
