The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has published the consultation on transitional arrangements for the 2023 business rates revaluation

The scope of the consultation is limited to the format of the transitional arrangements for the 2023 revaluation, and its scope does not extend to the level of transitional relief and the rateable value thresholds for the different levels of relief which will be decided in the Autumn once the outcomes of the revaluation are known. Other relief schemes, such as the Supporting Small Business relief, are also outside of the scope of the consultation, which applies to England only.

The consultation runs for eight weeks and will close on Monday 25 July.

The BRC will be formulating a response through our Property and Corporate Affairs communities - we will be putting time in for members to meet and discuss our response, so please do look out for an invite in due course, or contact Tom McCarthy if you aren't yet a member of either community. As always, we encourage members to submit their own response as well.
