UK growth slows down

Official figures released today show that the UK economy continued to recover in August, with GDP rising by 2.1%, the fourth monthly increase, albeit at a significantly slower pace compared to July’s (revised) growth of 6.4% and June’s of 9.1%. This puts August's UK output 9.2% below February's level. None of the GDP subsectors: production, construction, services and agriculture have yet recovered to their pre-pandemic levels.
