Grocery prices fall as inflation hits three-year high

June UK consumer prices rose by 2.5% compared to a year ago, the highest rate of growth since August 2018 and above market expectations of 2.2%. While rises in the prices of fuel, clothing & footwear and restaurants were the main drivers of June’s inflation, prices of grocery food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 0.6%.
