Every year the BRC consults its members by way of survey to gather evidence which informs our annual submission to the Low Pay Commission.

This survey plays a vital role in ensuring that the BRC presents credible and robust evidence to both decide and support our recommendation to the LPC, and takes into account the context of the current economic climate and the health of the retail sector.

The LPC, following representations from across all industries, presents its recommendations to the Government on what it believes the future change to the National Minimum Wages rates should be.

In light of the current pandemic, we have considerably shortened this years survey in order to gather headline data to present to the LPC in our package of evidence. The survey is open now and will run through May with the output finalised in June. This will then be shared and presented in the Oral Evidence Session with LPC Commissioners in July.

Members of all types and sizes and are urged to complete the survey with the full sectoral analysis sent out - only to those that contributed in June. If you have not received an invitation to complete, and would like to take part and receive the sector report, please contact tamara.hill@brc.org.uk.
