We’re excited to offer an opportunity for someone at the start of their communications career to join our Corporate Affairs team as a Communications Executive. You’ll work in our beautiful, refurbished building in London’s Seven Dials area, in a permanent, full time role reporting to the Head of Communications / Comms Advisor.

If you’re curious, enthusiastic and ready to learn, this role offers hands-on experience and the chance to develop skills in media relations, social media, storytelling and stakeholder engagement — with the support of an experienced, friendly team.

What you’ll do
In this role, you will:

•    Help raise the BRC’s profile and strengthen how we communicate with colleagues, members and external audiences.
•    Play a lead role in creating and delivering a social media strategy that highlights our impact and helps shape our online presence.
•    Support day-to-day media work, including responding to journalist enquiries, monitoring media coverage, and supporting the BRC’s proactive press activities. to day media work, including responding to enquiries, monitoring coverage, keeping journalist contacts up to date and helping coordinate press releases.
•    Build trusted relationships with press office teams across our membership.
•    Draft speech notes and media briefings for events and external opportunities.
•    Contribute to maintaining our communications grid so we plan and coordinate activity effectively.
•    Join the Corporate Affairs on call rota for out of hours member and media enquiries (evenings, weekends, bank holidays and during the Christmas/New Year closure).

What you’ll bring
You don’t need years of experience — we’re looking for someone who is motivated and excited to grow. You’ll be:
•    A clear and confident communicator, with a passion for creative storytelling.
•    A proactive individual with a strong awareness of politics and current affairs, who stays informed about national issues affecting businesses and consumers.
•    A strong writer who can adapt tone and style for different audiences.
•    Organised, comfortable juggling tasks and able to stay calm when things get busy.
•    A collaborative teammate who enjoys learning from others and contributing ideas.
•    Familiar with digital and social media platforms, with a willingness to develop new skills.

•    Format: 45-minute behavioural and competency-based conversation with the recruitment team.
•    Location: Virtual

Second Interview Stage
•    Date: 24, 25 March 2026
•    Format: 20 mins writing task, followed by a 45-minute interview.  
•    Panel Interview: 2 Member Panel
•    Location: In person at our beautiful offices in Covent Garden
