Meeting Preparation

  • Pea crab anon query – reminder of our members query is below. If any insights can be shared ahead of the meeting or during:

Can members support with any insights on level of incidence to date that could be shared confidentially for pea crab (Pinnotheres spp.) being found in closed wild-caught mussels (Mytilus spp.)?  Follow up: The supplier has confirmed that they’re naturally occurring symbiotic crustacean, which may be present inside a closed mussel shell at point of harvest. This is a natural biological occurrence and not related to processing, handling, or cross-contamination within the site.
