BRC is hosting a roundtable event to dive into the detail on what Mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (MHREDD) could look like for the UK.

Join us on Wednesday 2nd July, 11am-3pm, at BRC's Offices in Covent Garden, for a roundtable and networking lunch for Retail Human Rights and Sustainability professionals.

CONTEXT

The BRC and its members believe that there needs to be greater human rights and environmental due diligence provisions to level the playing field for all businesses. The Modern Slavery Act (2015), once world-leading, is no longer enough to improve business standards.

The Government have confirmed that legislative changes to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act will not be brought forward during the current Parliamentary session, but they will continue to explore opportunities to make legislative changes in future sessions of this Parliament. We want to raise our advocacy efforts to ensure legislative changes to the MSA in future sessions.
