Meet the Speakers

  • Luiza Paludo Gomes

    Policy Advisor - HR | BRC

    Luiza manages the HR community. She has over 6 years of experience working in other trade bodies. Prior to the BRC, she worked at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and UKHospitality, leading on labour and skills shortages, immigration and food and safety policies. Luiza is an overseas qualified lawyer and worked as a civil litigator in Brazil before relocating to the UK.

  • Patrick Brodie

    Partner, Head of Employment, Engagement and Equality, RPC

    Patrick is a leading litigator. He specialises in high-value and high-stakes employment disputes and business risk management, with a particular focus on restrictive covenants, whistleblowing, discrimination, and bonus disputes. He has led teams on groundbreaking cases that have clarified both domestic and international law, including in the Court of Appeal, the UK Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

  • Rachel Pears

    Associate Director, Responsible Business & Employment Counsel, RPC

    Rachel is an experienced employment lawyer whose passion for inclusion and diversity (I&D) work led her to become RPC's full time Responsible Business & Employment Counsel.
