Background

Defra have published a consultation for the amendment of The Persistent Organic Pollutants (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025 to add 5 new chemicals to the list of prohibited substances. These are: medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs), long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids (LC-PFCAs), UV-328, Dechlorane Plus (DP) and chlorpyrifos.

Inga has a Masters in chemistry and begun her career working in formulated materials and resin synthesis, and subsequently worked in biocidal regulation monitoring UK and EU regulation.
