Join us for the first meeting of BRC’s EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) Working Group. In response to strong member interest, BRC is convening a peer‑to‑peer forum to explore practical challenges and emerging approaches to PPWR compliance, particularly in the absence of detailed guidance from both the UK Government and the EU.

While BRC may not be in a position to provide a substantive policy update at this stage, members have highlighted the value of a dedicated space to share experiences, test interpretations, and compare approaches with peers.

Proposed agenda

  • Traceability requirements – including batch and serial numbers, and the use of QR codes
  • Declarations of Conformity (DoCs) – covering topics such as how to generate and source traceability numbers, requesting DoCs from suppliers, updating DoCs over time, communicating requirements across the supply chain
  • General approaches to PPWR compliance

Members may also wish to review the latest EU guidance, available here.

Please note that labelling requirements will be the focus of a subsequent working group session on 12 May, which Defra will attend.
