  • Sophie De Salis

    Sustainability Policy Adviser | BRC

    Sophie leads on ethical labour, responsible sourcing of commodities, and circular textiles. 

    Her work cuts across key areas of sustainability: from ethical labour and responsible sourcing to food waste and circular fashion. In her role, she engages and leads retailers on the latest policy developments, reactive issues and sustainable initiatives, as well as ongoing communication with government on the most pressing issues for retail.

  • Phillip Clayton

    Director, Align Ltd

    Phillip Clayton is the Director of Align Ltd, an ethical consultancy that believes lived experience must be at the heart of all work to combat modern slavery in businesses. Align’s mission is to evidence that lived experience can create new and powerful ways of ending slavery across businesses.

    With over 14 years of experience working face-to-face with survivors of modern slavery, Phillip has assisted companies in the retail, agriculture, maritime, and construction sectors in understanding and mitigating risk, raising awareness, and designing training. This has included site visits and Lived Experience consultant inclusion. He has built partnerships and collaborative projects with charities, businesses, and international funders like the United Nations Victim Fund and the Trussell Trust.
