About Supplier Data Focus Group

Objective: Facilitate collective approach to standardising data collection across suppliers will allowing retailers and suppliers to communicate and record GHG data in a consistent manner, avoiding duplication across shared supply chains

Group Problem Statement: "The current approach to supplier GHG data collection is fragmented, inefficient, and lacks strategic alignment. Suppliers face inconsistent and duplicative requests across the industry, often without clarity on purpose or value. This results in a significant time and resource burden, especially for those with limited capability or awareness. The absence of a standardised, scalable format—aligned with existing platforms and best practices—undermines data quality, limits usability for reporting and decision-making, and diverts focus from meaningful decarbonisation action."

BRC role: Convener and facilitator for Retail industry collaboration and collective action for:

  • Prioritisation & Use Case Clarity
  • Industry-Wide Standardisation & Alignment
  • Supplier Engagement & Feedback
