About The Apparel and Textile Transformation Initiative

Launched in June 2025 by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), ATTI is a manufacturer-led, nationally-oriented, and globally-coordinated initiative designed to accelerate the transformation of the apparel and textile industry.

  • The global programme supports national and regional manufacturing associations to develop tailored environmental transformation plans that address systemic barriers to long-term sustainability in their national context – ranging from energy efficiency and emissions to water use and resource optimization.
  • ATTI was developed in recognition of the central role manufacturers and their associations play in driving change—and the need to align efforts across the industry while responding to context-specific challenges at the national level. Its collaborative approach aims to reduce fragmentation, promote modernisation, and build a shared roadmap toward low-impact production.
  • With manufacturers leading, brands like Inditex, Bestseller and H&M aligning, and organisations like Cascale, Apparel Impact Institute, The Fashion Pact, and UN Climate Change offering strategic support, the industry is better positioned to meet its 2030 climate goals through grounded, collective, and context-specific action.

The presentation will

  • provide an overview of ATTI’s objectives and methodology, with a spotlight on early activities in its two pilot countries: Bangladesh and Türkiye
  • explore how the initiative supports retailer's climate goals
  • provide information on opportunities for stakeholders to engage: including joining as partners, supporting national dialogues, and scaling effective models

Attendees will also be invited to contribute to join a discussion on the evolution of ATTI as it expands to new countries.
