Vote Retail 2026 - The Scottish Political Party election manifestos and what they mean for retail/customers Online workshop

We’ll be holding an online workshop for members on the various Political Parties’ manifestos and what they mean for retailers and the customers they serve.

The workshop will look at:

  • The emerging policy ideas and what they mean for retailers/customers
  • The strategic ramifications for the industry with a view to influencing our forward plan of Scottish policy and advocacy activity
  • Discussion/Q&A

Most if not all of the main political parties standing for election to the Scottish Parliament will have published their election manifestos by the time we meet on 27 April. As such this event will provide an early opportunity to consider the emerging issues of particular interest to the industry and the approach we might take as a result over the following months.

Questions to guide the discussion:

  • Which if any of the party manifesto pledges should be on SRC’s risk-register, and how might we approach them?
  • What if any of the party manifesto pledges can we support?
  • Are there other factors likely to define the post-Holyrood election period that SRC should be mindful of?

This online workshop is being held on Monday 27 April 2026 from 2pm until 3pm. To register contact: David.Lonsdale@brc.org.uk
