IMHX is excited to welcome everyone back to the NEC in Birmingham from 9-11 September.

Since the last show in 2022, the industry has continued its voyage of discovery and evolution in a rapidly changing supply chain. Very recently I heard a respected practitioner define excellence in supply chain management as “very different in the future compared with the past” with traditional “excellence benchmarks” becoming rapidly outdated. I think IMHX 2025 will showcase, that in many ways, the intralogistics and material handling sectors are on a similar journey.

This year’s event will have moved on significantly since the industry last gathered at the show in 2022. Momentum is a key word and to reflect that, I’m excited to see IMHX moving from triennial to biennial from 2025 onwards meaning the community will no longer have to wait three years for each edition.

This year’s show is all about bridging the gap between ideas and action. Whether its cutting-edge warehouse automation, smart software driven by artificial intelligence or the growing push for increased sustainability, the event will showcase how these trends are shaping day-to-day operations and transforming the logistics landscape for the better.

The conference programme will be a highlight for many. I’m delighted to see such a range of thought-provoking keynotes, practical case studies and panel sessions tackling important issues. From harnessing AI and machine learning to navigating supply chain resilience and reducing carbon footprints, there’s something for every supply chain professional keen to stay ahead of the curve. And with established well-recognised brands such as ASDA, Ocado, Bentley, Toyota, Savills and many more on stage, the quality of discussion is going to be first class.

For those wanting to get hands-on with the latest technologies, please do explore the show floor. You can find the latest MHE solutions, automation systems, software platforms and data-driven innovations in action over the three-day event. You can read more about how to use the IMHX App to plan your journey through the event and also connect with exhibitors and visitors alike so I would encourage everyone to download it and get involved.

A must-attend highlight of this year’s event is the Future Zone, and our thanks go out to SEC Group for their support in bringing it to life. This dedicated area addresses two pivotal themes: Future Energy showcasing alternative energy solutions; and Future Technology looking at warehouse optimisation, highlighting efficiency and carbon reduction strategies and innovative technologies transforming supply chains. The Zone is a hands-on experience with an engaging level of interactivity including immersive VR Demos and there will also be a speaker corner with regular bite-sized content to enjoy.

And talking about getting hands on, you can get Behind the Wheel in the new IMHXperience Zone. Whether you know exactly what you need, or have never driven before, you can get on a forklift truck and have a go. A big thank you to our partners for activating that experience with us this year – please go and see what’s on offer while you’re there including some excellent real-life use case demos from some of the industry’s leading technology manufacturers. You can find the schedule of activities and opportunities inside the IMHX app.

With pressure mounting on businesses to deliver on environmental commitments, the show’s dedicated sessions and exhibitors will shine a light on solid steps that operators can take to work more responsibly – and more profitably – in today’s climate-conscious world.

But above all, IMHX 2025 is about reconnecting. It’s about bringing together people, ideas and solutions to tackle shared challenges and build a stronger, smarter logistics sector. With so much to see, learn and take away, it’s an event that no one in the industry should miss.

As ever we’re grateful to be working collaboratively with many excellent associations including the event’s co-hosts UKMHA and our thanks go to Rob Fisher and the team for fantastic input and ideas as always. IMHX is proud to sponsor the Archies Awards and we hope to see many of you on Wednesday the 10th of September evening.

Finally, I’m a great believer in collaboration as an essential tool for creating greater outcomes for customers – so if you’d like to collaborate to enhance IMHX, please do get in touch.
