CMA commences its enforcement on Fake Reviews

 

Under its enforcement banner, the CMA has undertaken a websweep of just over 100 business websites to check compliance with its Guidance on fake reviews in respect of a statement of policy on their website and a statement of how they deal with incentivised reviews.

It found over 50% of businesses were not compliant with the Guidance. CMA has written to these businesses to ask them why this is the case.
