This year we're asking your apprentices to record short videos giving an insight into what an apprenticeship in retail really looks like. We'll use them to create some eye-catching videos to share on social media and with MPs to show the public and policymakers why apprenticeships matter. All the resources will also be available for you to share on your own platforms.
Three videos will feature apprentices answering quick fire questions. They can record all 3, or pick their favourite, and we'd like each answer to be 60 seconds max.
- “What is your top tip for anyone thinking about doing a retail apprenticeship?
- “Why did you decide to start an apprenticeship?”
- “This year’s NAW theme is ‘Skills for Life’. What skills have you gained from an apprenticeship that you weren’t necessarily expecting to?”
Or, if your apprentices are feeling a little more creative they can try a "Day in the life" video - a maximum of 90 seconds. Here are a few examples from RPC here and here for inspiration.
We'd love to have as many apprentices included as possible but we're looking for a mix of ages and apprenticeship types so whether they work in the warehouse, on the high street, or in head office, everyone is welcome to participate.
You (or they) can send the videos to lara.conradie@brc.org.uk - either directly or via WeTransfer - by Friday 13th January and make sure to include the apprentice's name, company, and apprenticeship type (e.g. Level 4 Data Engineer).
