New immigration route - Scale-up visa

This week, the Home Office launched a new immigration route for high skilled workers, the Scale-up Visa.

Fast-growing UK businesses will be able to sponsor workers for certain roles for a period of at least 6 months and up to 2 years, initially. This can be extended to a further 3 years. You can find a list of eligible occupations here.

The route also allows scale-up visa holders to leave their sponsored role after 6 months and switch to an unsponsored role. There are a number of requirements for businesses to qualify as sponsors under this route, including demonstrating recent business growth.
