The Maths to 18 Expert Advisory Group and the National Numeracy Leadership Council,  are hosting a meeting ( 5 July, 8.30-10am, Zoom) on consultation on the Prime Minister’s new mission for all young people to study mathematics to age 18. 

Retailers are invited to join the discussions and share views on helping young people develop the knowledge and skills they need in maths to be better equipped for the modern economy. 

The call will be hosted by National Numeracy and facilitated by: 

  • Charlie Stripp, Chief Executive, Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), Director, National Centre for Excellence in Teaching of Mathematics & Chair, Maths to 18 Expert Advisory Group
  • Lucy-Marie Hagues, UK CEO, Capital One & member of the Maths to 18 Expert Advisory Group and the National Numeracy Leadership Council 

The event is intended for organisational leaders with strategic oversight of recruitment and/or workforce development at employers across a range of sectors. Attendees will receive a short briefing on the current maths education and qualifications landscape in advance of the event, and will be asked for input on the following questions:

  • How can Maths to age 18 best meet the needs of employers?
  • How can employers help to promote Maths to age 18?
