The Prime Minister recently announced plans to create a new ‘Advanced British Standard’, bringing together technical and academic education into a new single qualification. A change of this scale will take time, with the expectation that it will take 10 years to deliver in full.

This won't have any impact on the delivery of T Levels. Representatives of the Department for Education (DfE) confirmed that T Levels are not being dropped or de-prioritised, but will actually form the backbone of the new qualification.

DfE remains committed to T Level growth and development, and wider reforms to technical qualifications. More T Level courses will be rolled out, and students will be encouraged to consider these options.
