The Department for Work and Pensions has launched a “Keep Britain Working” review to explore how businesses and government can work together to support people with long-term illnesses or disabilities back into work, and to remain in work.
The review will be led by Sir Charlie Mayfield (former John Lewis), and builds on the launch of the Get Britain Working White Paper back in November.
The review is due to finish in the Autunm and will look at scale, trends, obstacles and opportunities for companies when recruiting and retaining ill and disabled people.
The initial phase should conclude in Spring with a report on current support available for people to stay in work, and organisations who help those out of work, to inform wider engagement, with recommendation to government are expected later this year.
