Leadership Education at B&Q: Reverse Mentoring
B&Q have prioritised leadership education as part of their D&I strategy. A key part of this was to help leaders to grow their cultural intelligence (CQ) through reverse mentoring.
Partnerships between leaders and members of minority groups across B&Q have yielded excellent results, helping grow not only cultural intelligence (CQ), but allyship and understanding for all concerned.
Alignment with the BRC D&I Charter’s Pledges
The BRC Diversity & Inclusion Charter emphasizes creating inclusive workplaces, supporting underrepresented groups, and fostering a culture of equality. B&Q’s Reverse Mentoring programme aligns with Pledges 5 of the BRC Diversity and Inclusion Charter, where businesses are ‘committed to creating a respectful, inclusive work environment within which every employee has the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the company’s vision and values’.
