Creating a Smokefree Generation and Tackling Youth Vaping: Retail Sector Response

This is the retail sector response to the Creating a Smokefree Generation and Tackling Youth Vaping consultation.

The key points are:

- The retail sector takes their underage sales, product compliance and environmental responsibilities seriously

- More resources are needed to tackle illegal, irresponsible sellers of vaping and tobacco products

- There are several impracticalities around the execution of the 2009 age restriction on tobacco

There are several answers where retailers ' opinions were divided. Although we like to deliver a 'consensus' view, on some occasions this is not possible, due to the divisive nature of the product. We have made it clear in the consultation where there has been a split on retailers' opinions.
