Disposable BBQ - Voluntary Guidelines

Following significant interest from the media and consumers around the sale of disposable BBQs (DBBQs) during extreme heat events, the British Retail Consortium (BRC), brought together retailers, manufacturers, charities, and trade associations to produce voluntary guidelines. 

Retailers of all sizes are encouraged to use the guidelines.

Scope of the guidelines:

These voluntary guidelines can be used by all retailers. They are intended to:

• Support responsible retailing
• Encourage retailers to educate consumers on safe use and disposal
  of DBBQs
• Prevent the spread of wildfires caused by DBBQs
