ESOS Phase 3 Deadline Extended

Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme. Organisations that qualify must carry out an assessment of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport every four years.

The compliance deadline for Phase 3 has been extended to 5 June 2024 (previously 5 December 2023), to ensure there is reasonable time for participants to meet the new requirements and for assessors to carry out assessments.

The qualification thresholds and the deadline remain unchanged - ESOS still applies to all organisations and their corporate groups classed as large undertakings on 31 December 2022.
