BRC Climate Action Week 2025

WHAT IS THE BRC'S CLIMATE ACTION WEEK?

The BRC's Climate Action Week is an annual flagship programme of events aimed at:

  • Sharing progress and raising the profile our work to accelerate industry progress on net zero through the Climate Action Roadmap.
  • Championing the achievements of the retail sector in climate action.
  • Providing a range of insightful webinars to support retailers overcome challenges, accelerate progress, and galvanise journeys to net zero - whether you're advanced in your progress, or only just getting started.
  • Engaging industry leaders representing the largest retailers in the UK to catalyse collective action on climate.

Climate Action Week is underpinned by and supports our work on the BRC's Climate Action Roadmap, the retail industry's ambition to deliver net zero across its supply chains, direct operations, and products sold to consumers by 2040.

And this year, we are celebrating a significant milestone: five years of the Climate Action Roadmap

During this year's Climate Action Week, we will examine the industry's progress on net zero at this first five-year mark through an updated assessment of the retail sector's emissions profile and a stocktake of progression on the Roadmap's milestones for 2025, to review the action needed to take the industry to 2030.

BRC Climate Action Week 2024

WHAT DID WE DO LAST YEAR?

Last year's Climate Action Week featured six insightful webinars on some of the most pressing areas for climate action within the industry, such as carbon removals, supply chain decarbonisation, green claims, improving energy performance and more.

The week closed with a Retail CEO Exchange Forum on the 'Future-fit, Net-zero Retailer' and an evening keynote delivered by Sir Dave Lewis, which spurred 60 retail leaders to have a "braver conversation" on climate action and consider how to collectively move forward - and at pace - in the transition to Net Zero.

You can find a summary of the webinars and in-person events from last year on the Climate Action Week 2024 round-up page.

You can watch any of last year's webinars on demand on the Climate Action Week 2024 programme page.
