The BRC's interactive data monitors bring together the best available evidence on UK retail's economic performance, drawing on both BRC's own industry monitors and official government data sources. The Retail Monitor Data Tracker covers the national picture - tracking retail sales, shop prices, footfall, and consumer sentiment month by month, with the ability to aggregate to quarterly or annual frequency and export any combination of series. The Retail Local Data Tracker zooms into the sub-national story, mapping retail's contribution to local economies across five themes (economic output, employment, business rates, business counts, and pay) from nations and regions down to individual Westminster constituencies. Together, they offer a comprehensive view of where retail stands and what it contributes, at every level of the UK economy.
