Join this round table with the BRC, the Bank of England and a group of senior retailers. This meeting provides an opportunity to share information with the Bank of England that will contribute to the interest rate decision.
The BRC is inviting a small group of senior retailers from across the UK to participate in this in-person discussion with the Bank of England. Attendees will be asked to provide insights on consumer demand strength, labour market conditions, cost pressures, and other relevant business issues.
Claire Lombardelli, Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy, will attend and participate in the discussion. Her involvement significantly enhances the value of the session, giving members the opportunity to:
- Receive insight directly from a Monetary Policy Committee member involved in interest rate decisions
- Share real‑time intelligence on trading conditions, costs and consumer demand directly with a senior policy‑maker
- Ensure retail perspectives are fed straight into monetary policy discussions at the highest level
