You will have seen that, last month, the EHRC Draft Code on the interpretation of the Equality Act was laid in Parliament. This contains updated guidance on single-sex spaces following the Supreme Court ruling on the interpretation of the Equality Act last year.

We responded to the consultation on the guidance last year, highlighting areas of concern or where further clarity was needed to ensure the guidance was workable and supportive of all affected groups. There is, however, still concern that the implications for retailers are not clear.

With this in mind, we will be joined by the law firm RPC for a HR Technical Call explaining the updates to the Draft Code, with particular reference to the changes on single-sex spaces - and considering the implications for retail. There will also be time to ask questions and for members to share their own views and approaches with each other.
