Vote Retail 2027 – Northern Ireland

An online member workshop exploring the retail industry’s priorities and how they relate to the NI Executive and the NI Assembly took place on 4th June 2026.

The topics discussed included:

• Windsor Framework – making our voice heard at the EU, Westminster and Stormont
• Business Rates – The Revaluation and the widening multiplier ‘gap’ with GB
• Planning and wastewater – delaying members who wish to invest in new retail units
• Sentencing Act – ensuring it delivers for retail workers
• Good Jobs Employment Rights Act – minimising burdens & maximising all UK alignment
• Strategic implications for retail policy and advocacy
• Discussion and Q&A
