The BRC is proud to launch the second annual Climate Action Roadmap Showcase, which celebrates the achievements of retailers over the last two years, putting their company on the path to Net Zero. It focuses on the reduction of carbon emissions, the advancement of sustainability objectives (such as reducing waste or improving recycling), and the improvement in the impact firms have on nature.

The Showcase is open to all signatories of the Climate Action Roadmap, a commitment and framework by the retail industry to move itself and its supply chains to Net Zero by 2040 (there is still time to sign up to the Roadmap). Entry is free and we encourage as many retailers as possible to share their amazing work with the rest of the industry. Check out the fantastic submissions from last year.

  • Tackling carbon emissions in the supply chain – Food related;
  • Tackling carbon emissions in the supply chain – Non-Food related;
  • Reducing emissions in transport and logistics;
  • Reducing waste;
  • Driving towards net zero properties;
  • Changing consumer behaviour.
During BRC’s Climate Action Week, on Thursday 2nd November 2023, we will be celebrating your amazing efforts in tackling climate change at an event in the Form Rooms, London. Our panel of judges will be recognising some of the initiatives that have made the biggest difference across each of the six categories.

We will be highlighting all your case studies on our website, across social media and to politicians and journalists over the coming year. Our aim is to show the world the actual difference being made by the retail industry on climate change and sustainability.

We understand awards and case studies can be time-consuming processes. This is why we’re limiting case study submissions to just 2,000 words – a 300 word overview, up to 1000 words on the initiative, and up to 700 words on the outcomes. Retailers have until the 30th June 2023 to submit. There is no cost to enter, and retailers can enter for multiple categories (a separate entry will be required for each category).
