BRC Roundtable on Asbestos
This event is exclusive to BRC Retail Members and by invitation only.
Join fellow retailers, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), legal experts from Ashurst to explore the issue of asbestos in consumer products, mainly focussed on lay-sand. Through expert insight, practical discussion and peer exchange, the roundtable will examine the latest advice, provide a global picture of asbestos management and focus on the challenges retailers face in managing testing and assurance.
The session will focus on helping retailers understand what proportionate due diligence looks like in practice, including approaches to product testing and assurance as well as the key points in supplier management. The discussion will also help shape a practical route forward for BRC members, providing insight into both the management of asbestos-related product safety issues and broader measures that can strengthen future procurement and product assurance processes
