Amid growing concerns around global warming and increasingly extreme early‑season heat, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) is reminding customers how to use disposable barbecues safely to help prevent wildfires.

Recent data shows the UK recorded its hottest May temperatures on record, with highs exceeding 34°C, levels described as exceptional even for mid‑summer.

In response, the guidance has been updated to reflect these changing conditions, ensuring it remains relevant to today’s market and continues to support retailers in communicating key safety risks effectively.
