FAQs
It's easy to become up an member of the BRC. If you are a retailer, please go to the Contact Us section of the website, fill in the retail membership enquiry form and someone will be in touch to discuss joining.
You can. If you are supplying services (banking, consultancy, tech, legal etc) to retailers, then you can become an Associate Member. Retail trade associations become Trade Association Members, while if you are an investor, you might want to become a Data Subscriber.
For a retailer, your membership subscription is based on your UK retail turnover. For a Trade Association, it's based on the number of retailers you represent - and for an Associate Member, it's a flat fee of £5800
There are many. However, we've distilled them down to five:
- We give your company and our industry a VOICE, ensuring you’re heard and your reputation protected through our strong relationships with media, government and stakeholders
- Our LOBBYING helps your business anticipate, influence and interpret regulatory changes, thus mitigating their financial impact
- Our LEARNING programmes elevate your and your businesses’ leadership skills and knowledge, driving business growth by developing talent and improving retention
- The INSIGHT, best practice and thought leadership shared through our communities help you understand and adapt to an ever-changing retail environment
- The MARKET INTELLIGENCE shared through industry benchmarks, market monitors and economic forecasts helps you contextualise your business and make informed decisions
It's easy - just log in to My Communities and select those you wish to be a part of. You can access articles without being a member of a community - but if you want invites to meetings and calls, want to receive email bulletins and advance notice of what's coming down the track, we encourage you to join!

A great resource to have access to other retailers that are facing many of the same challenges as us.

The BRC allows a fiercely competitive sector to come together on some of the most important issues of the day. When it focuses on the long term topics that require well considered political and legal change it is at its most effective.

A great partnership, adding substantial value to many functions of the business, especially the ESG and People team.
