Bryony Waugh

Bryony Waugh

Head of Environment, Tesco

Leading Tesco’s climate work, Bryony was instrumental in driving the group to become the first UK food retailer to commit its full value chain to a 1.5C-aligned net zero pathway. This commitment is now part of Tesco’s core purpose, ‘Big 6’ KPIs, and is linked to executive remuneration and selected financial facilities.

Passionate about embedding sustainability into commercial business practice, she brings several years of trading experience as a buyer across food, drinks and non-food into her role as Tesco’s Climate Change Manager and now acting Head of Environment.

She has focussed particularly on aligning Transport, Property and Finance functions towards the common goal of reaching net zero as credibly and efficiently as possible. She leads the development and implementation of an executive-sponsored climate strategy across UK and EU markets, securing investment to deliver short and long-term emissions reduction across operations and the supply chain.
