Ahead of the Simpler Recycling rules entering into force for businesses from 31st March 2025, this meeting will be a good opportunity for members to hear the latest updates on the new rules directly from Defra, with time afterwards to ask questions and discuss concerns with Defra and other members.

Key issues to be covered are:

• Concerns around enforcement due to the short timeframe businesses have had to implement the new rules.

• Challenges around collection, particularly the separate collection of paper/card (unless co-collected under the TEEP exemption) and the separate collection of food waste that may be particularly challenging for some stores and businesses to accommodate.
