BRC | DHSC | Tobacco and Vapes Bill
The Tobacco and Vapes Bill went through Parliament last year however did not reach the final stages due to change of Government.
The first reading of the newly resurged Tobacco and Vapes Bill following the introduction of the new Government, took place on 5th November. The date of the second reading has been scheduled for the 26th November 2024, at which stage MPs will vote.
On the 12th November BRC had a meeting with Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) about the Tobacco and Vapes Bill. This was followed by a discussion with members and DHSC officials on the 14th November. DHSC highlighted similarities and differences between the old and new bill , our members highlighted key points which may affect them.
