Deposit Return Scheme (DRS): Update November 2024

Background 

Previously, the four UK governments committed to a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) to go live in October 2027, with regulations coming into force in January/February 2025. The intention has been for the scheme to be UK-aligned and interoperable across the four nations. This week, the regulations for England and Northern Ireland were laid in Parliament.
