BRC have launched a new guide to support retailers on their nature journey. Our new guide on Nature and Biodiversity is here to help you decipher the latest nature-related policies and get started on your nature strategy.
Protecting nature and improving biodiversity is critical to the long-term resilience of retail operations – and creates new business opportunities. Becoming “nature positive” is increasingly seen on an equal footing, and integral to, reaching Net Zero, with the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss extrinsically linked and have solutions rooted in preserving and enhancing natural habitats.
In 2022, the UK government made a formal commitment to protect and conserve a minimum of 30% of land and sea for biodiversity by 2030. Below, we have put together a guide for retailers to demystify the regulatory landscape relating to nature, as well as an introduction to the key reporting frameworks, guidance and tools to reach your nature goals.
We're here to support you where we can on your work on nature and biodiversity and coordinate retail’s approach to nature-related policies. For any queries, please contact our policy lead Sophie De Salis.
