The BRC will be co-operating with NCSC during the coming year and organising relevant meetings to keep members up to date with the latest threats.

Our latest crime survey will be out by February - and not surprisingly preliminary analysis shows that cyber threats to retailers continue to rise.

For example, one CEO has already remarked on the number of fake retail and other  websites linked to advertising on social media sites - designed to rob people of their personal information.

As in other areas, the NCSC has a reporting mechanism if you spot one of these at

There is also a Government website which points to various organisations including the ASA you can report phishing attempts - now seen as one of the largest threats in our survey.

As with all criminal activity - cyber or other - we encourage retailers to report it all to relevant authorities so accurate records of its extent can be kept by government, police and online authorities.
