Vaccine rollout lifts sentiment
The pandemic has delivered an extraordinary shock to the UK economy, wiping out six years’ of growth in 2020 alone. After falling by about 25% during spring, GDP recovered sharply over the summer, but has stagnated since late autumn, and has probably fallen outright at the start of this year. In Q4, GDP rose by 1.0%, down from 16.1% in Q3.
