BRC Attends Obesity Committee 

BRC attended the House of Lords Diet and Obesity Committee session on Food, Diet and Obesity on 18 April 2024. The evidence session set out to explore the role of food such as ultra-processed foods and foods high in fat, salt and sugar in a healthy diet and in tackling obesity.  

BRC set out three key roles retailers play in actively promoting a healthy diet: 

• Having healthy choices in the retail stores 
• Providing consumers with access to health choices 
• Providing consumers healthy choices at a good price
